In this class students will be making up to 4 classic holiday ornaments out of birch bark. Instruction will be given on how to cut, fold and manipulate the birch bark. Ornaments will be decorated with dried flowers, or other materials the instructor has available. Students are also encouraged to bring in any embellishments (yarn, beads, dried flowers, etc) they might have at home to decorate their ornaments.Additional Information:
About the instructor: Sandi Cirillo is a retired art teacher and fiber artist with over 25 years of teaching experience in various art forms. She is also a teaching artist in the state of Maine, working with businesses, arts organizations, and adult education programs teaching a variety of classes in drawing, fiber, and art history. Her work is displayed at Local Color Gallery in Belfast and her studio is in Searsport. She also teaches at Senior College in Belfast.
