About this Event
Learn to make beautiful and unique custom pens - the perfect gift! Pen turning is a great way to expand your lathe turning skills, and create something cool to share with a friend (or keep for yourself!) In this hands-on workshop, you will learn:
- How to select and prepare a blank for turning a pen
- How to use a pen mandrel on the lathe to turn your pen parts
- How to shape, sand, finish, and assemble your pen
Prerequisites
or prior experience spindle turning on a wood lathe.
Dress Code
- Full length pants and closed-toed shoes
- Hair ties for longer hair
- No dangling jewelry or loose clothing
What to Bring
- We recommend you bring your own safety glasses and hearing protection if possible. Maker Nexus will supply them for students who do not have their own.
Equipment Certifications
This class does not certify attendees to use any Maker Nexus equipment outside of class.
