Capes are back!
Sewing with heavier fabrics - they are great to work with and easier than you may think.
This cape pattern has different variations, whether long or short. We will look at finishing seams and hems on a thicker fabric as well as what type of interfacings are suitable for a professional finish.
If you are unsure about a cape, then keep an eye out for whos wearing them. (mentioning no names, royalty and TV presenters!)
In preparation for the class you will need to purchase Simplicity 8263 and decide which length you would like. YOU WILL NEED TO ORDER THIS FROM THE SHOP, so don’t leave it too late. Choose the correct size and cut out the tissue pattern in preparation for the class.
Purchase the correct amount of fabric and lining, if unsure please ask at the shop for help. We will look at the correct interfacing at the start of the class.
Skill level : Basic sewing machine skills required.
Janome sewing machines will be provided on the day along with a hot drink. You will also receive a 10% discount card to use in-store.

I have been involved with sewing and dressmaking for all of my working life and nothing gives me greater pleasure than passing on my knowledge to people who want to learn to sew. I enjoy sewing, dressmaking, all types of craft and especially machine embroidery.
