About this Event
Make a start with art! - Laid back and enjoyable workshops for those who would like to try a bit of everything!
Have you ever wanted to try your hand at Art but don’t know where to start? Are your only art experiences from school and has this put you off? At her workshops Justine has come across many people where this is the case at the start of day but who leave having learned new skills, grown in confidence and produced unique pieces of art they are proud of. If this sounds familiar, then these workshops are definitely for you.
Come along and join experienced Artist and Designer Justine Hardisty, whose workshops are known for being relaxed, expressive with great emphasis placed on having fun! Justine is passionate about the benefits of creativity and a huge advocate for interpretation of subject matter to create unique pieces of art in an individual style.
With over 40 years of experience, Justine has a background in Surface Pattern Design in the soft furnishings industry where her designs were successfully sold in major high street stores in the nineties (as seen on Rodney Trotter’s bed in Only Fools and Horses!) She has also pursued a 22-year career working in education
In this series of workshops, Justine will teach a range of skills and techniques through demonstrations using different media and by looking at a variety of subjects. As well as this, using her vast art history knowledge, Justine will expose you to the work of a myriad of artists and art movements to interest and inspire. You will have the opportunity to try your hand at a little bit of everything with a view to continuing your artistic journey in the future. Art is wonderful for promoting good mental health and well being as well as mindfulness as it allows you to dedicate time to yourself and enter a world of colour, form, pattern and texture. By the end of each workshop, you will have created something unique and to be proud of. In addition, you will also receive a handout detailing the skills and techniques you have learned as well as the media you have used to continue experimenting and practising with at home.
What is covered in each workshop …
A new skill/technique using a range of media will be taught each session looking at a variety of subjects.
