About this Event
Do robot butterflies dream of electric snails? ✨ 🦋 🐌 Find out in this hands-on workshop!
You will build a Robot Butterfly kit that adoringly flaps its wings and sparkles its lights in response to sensors. The kit contains motors, sensors, a circuit board, and a 3D printed enclosure. You will learn to solder through-hole components onto a circuit board. You will assemble the enclosure with fasteners and attach the wings. Experience how all the pieces come together to create a robot. Firmware will be pre-flashed onto the microcontroller, and code is available for your future tinkering. Once assembled, press the button to activate party mode! 😎
This workshop is a part of . The Open Hardware Summit is the world’s first comprehensive conference on open hardware, covering a wide range of subjects from electronics, mechanics to related fields such as digital fabrication, fashion technology, and self-quantification devices.
Join an optional walk afterwards to bring your newly minted Robot Butterfly out into nature and enjoy one of Montreal’s great sights! (Details to follow closer to the workshop date)
