Take a break from the chaos and join me in the mindful process of carving your own unique bangle.
Together, we will carve, texture and form a hard wax mould which is sent to our specialist casting company to be transformed into either silver or brass. Once your bangle has been cast, I’ll show you how to turn it into a beautiful, one-of-a-kind piece of jewellery.
This class is a lovely introduction to jewellery making for ambitious beginners or a great follow-up class for those who have completed my basic wax carving class.
A materials kit is supplied at the beginning of the course, which includes a hard wax block, saw blades and sandpaper.
At the end of this course, you will have explored the art of:
. Bangle sizing
. Accurate design layout
. Hand-carving hard wax
. Textures and mark making.
Casting fees are not included in your kit and are to be paid by students upon the return of their castings. The price can generally be estimated prior to casting. Small bangles usually start at approximately $125 in silver, while larger silver bangles begin at $200, depending on their weight.
A small selection of silver, thick hard wax blocks for wide bangles and other consumables will also be available for purchase through the gallery if required.
$695 Per Term
