Learn the basics of machine tool woodworking while making your very own heavy-duty cutting board during this 2-day class. During the first session students will learn the fundamentals of milling wood to size using the jointer, plane, and table saw. Students will then glue together their pieces in preparation for session 2. During the second session of this class students will clean up their glued pieces, then flatten, shape, and profile their cutting boards before final sanding in preparation for finish. This is a 2-day class, dates are 6/10 and 6/17 1:00p-4:00p. All class participants receive a 15% discount on merchandise purchased in the store on the same day of their class. Exclusions Apply. Students should come properly attired for a woodworking class (tight fitting clothing, long hair restrained and constrained from the face); and bring or wear provided industry standard hearing protection and safety glasses during equipment operation. All woodworking classes are held in a store that sells a wide variety of woods, including exotic woods such as cedar, aromatic cedar and other products (e.g., finishes, cleaners, etc.) that may cause allergic or other reactions in a small number of cases.
