Ever wanted to try ceramics but not sure where to start? This friendly, hands-on workshop is a great place to begin.
Join ceramic artist Rhi Jarman for a relaxed session where you’ll design, shape and decorate your own ceramic animal platter — guided step by step in a supportive studio environment. No previous experience needed.
You’ll start by playing with ideas and simple sketches, then roll out clay and shape your platter using an easy template. Rhi will show you a range of approachable decorating techniques — from drawing into the clay and adding texture, to painting with colour using oxides and underglaze. You can keep things simple or get as playful as you like.
This is all about enjoying the process, working with your hands, and making something personal and full of character.
After the workshop, your piece will be glazed and fired for you. Once ready, it can be used as a serving platter, a decorative plate, or even hung on the wall as a small artwork.
Why you’ll love this workshop:
✔️ Perfect for beginners
✔️ Calm, supportive teaching
✔️ All materials included
✔️ You’ll make something unique to keep
Come and enjoy a few creative hours with clay — and discover just how satisfying it is to make something yourself.
