Join us for the first annual Makanda Mushroom Festival held in the gorgeous Shawnee National Forest in southern Illinois. During a weekend of April 23-25, 2021, Camp Manitowa at Cedar Point in Makanda, IL boasts a gorgeous backdrop for mushroom foraging hikes, educational food and fermentation workshops, a ticketed, chef-led mushroom dinner, live music from incredible local talent, art, vendors, camping, cabins, and much more. WHAT YOU GET:
Festival grounds open Friday at 3pm and close Sunday at 8 pm. Feel free to join us any or all of the days.
Each festival attendee will receives:
Access to free workshops throughout the festival (Workshops are Saturday and Sunday).
Take-Home items or workbooks from most workshops and presentations.
Free Camping included with each ticket.
Hogan Hut Rentals Available
Juried Artists’ Market and Mini Farmers’ Market Saturday 9am-2pm.
Live music Friday and Saturday evenings, and Sunday.
Lake access with lifeguard(s) on duty, plus FREE kayaks and canoes provided by Camp Manitowa.
Educational foraging hikes led by mycology experts from Missouri Mycological Society.
