MAJOR RUSE - A HIP HOP INFLUENCED JAZZ QUARTET WITH A PUNK EDGE
Major Ruse are a hip hop-influenced jazz quartet with a punk edge, recently championed by BBC Radio 6 Music DJ Tom Robinson. Armed with just a sax, a guitar, a bass and a drum kit, Major Ruse make music that takes risks, pulls on heartstrings and makes you want to shake a leg!
After releasing their debut EP in 2020, they've since been putting in the hours writing new material for their first record and honing their energetic live shows. Along the way they've played a host of the very best UK festivals including Love Supreme, We Out Here and the Manchester Jazz Festival. They've supported the likes of Oscar Jerome and Blue Lab Beats as well as recording an incredible live session for 6 Music.
2022 promises to be a huge year for the band, so catch them at Hare & Hounds before they hit it big.
'What a totally fantastic noise – Paradigm is my personal record of the week by a country mile.'
- Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music
