In honor of the Great Southeast Pollinator Census, Floyd County Extension Master Gardener Volunteers Ginny Word and Karen Jordan will present a book talk about “Major Ridge’s Garden”. We will be talking about the ideas behind creating the book as a companion for Chieftains Museum annual Herb and Plant Sale. The “Herb Sale’ is a beloved and long awaited spring plant sale extravaganza benefitting the Chieftains Museum in Rome, GA. Following the humble beginning of the herb sale to the thousands of plants selected for current sales, the book is designed to high light not just the plants, but how to utilize them in your gardens, apply successful growing strategies, use the in crafty and creative ways and include them when cooking your favorite dishes.
Books will be on sale and proceeds will go to the museum. Join us as we explore the importance of including pollinator plants in your own garden.
