Maja Mannila is an impressive singer-songwriter whose style ranges from jazz and soul to r’n’b and gospel. She is one of the biggest talents in the Finnish jazz scene, already making waves internationally (e.g. Germany, Slovenia, Lithuania, England, Sweden, Estonia, Japan). The highlights include e.g. concerts at the Manchester Jazz Festival, Nordischer Klang in Germany and Juhla Festival in Tokyo. Maja Mannila Trio was selected to represent Finland at the Nordic Jazz Comets in Sweden in May 2023 which led to a successful tour in Sweden in 2024. In her trio she plays together with awarded drummer Severi Sorjonen and equally acknowledged Johannes Granroth on bass. The trio released their debut album in June 2022 and the second album “Seasons” in November 2023. The trio showed their potential already in 2021 when they started touring in Central Europe with pianist Iiro Rantala as the rhythm section.
