Join us for an unforgettable day exploring the beautiful waters of Maitai Bay on Saturday, 10th of January 2026. This special event is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the vibrant marine life that thrives here and the positive changes brought about by the rāhui established by Te Whānau Moana me Te Rorohuri.
Take part in a guided snorkelling session and experience the incredible biodiversity beneath the surface — from colourful reef fish and curious triplefins to the elusive red-lined bubble snail. It’s a fun and educational day out for the whole whānau!
Bring your own snorkelling gear, or enjoy free hire of our masks, snorkels, fins, and wetsuits. All children under 15 years must be accompanied by an adult beach observer, and the age cut-off for snorkelling is 4 years. Our experienced guides and advanced safety procedures will ensure a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience for everyone.
Koha/donations welcome.
Postponements will be posted to our website and Facebook page.
Don’t miss this chance to connect with te taiao and discover the magic of Maitai Bay. See you there!
Generously funded by Water Safety NZ.
