We’ll hike to Long Lake Beach for lunch, then return to the trailhead, stopping at the Tidnish Suspension Bridge on the Ketchum Ship Railway Trail along the way back.
We’ll also discuss the importance of the Chignecto Isthmus as the main genetic connection between New Brunswick moose and our Mainland Moose population. Hear the latest findings from our Mainland Moose Study, get an update on the species’ status, and take part in a short Q&A with our Conservation Coordinator, Jess.
During the hike, you’ll learn how to recognize signs of moose such as tracks, scat, and browse, while also taking time to appreciate the area’s plants, birds, and other wildlife.
This hike is approximately 8 km round trip, offering a unique mix of history, ecology, and beautiful fall scenery with a relaxing lunch by the lake.

🚗 Trailhead Access: We will drive together from the fire department to the trailhead. A store and washroom are available nearby if needed.
