Dale Henry Geist has always been driven to discover what’s behind the curtain, under the hood, beneath the mask. As a teenager in the cultural wilderness of upstate New York he discovered that songs could be his X-Ray Specs, as well as a ticket out. Pop, then rock, then folk, then Americana, as he sought his fortune in Chicago, Colorado, Massachusetts, and, for decades, northern California, ultimately amassing a body of work that has stood him in good stead since his arrival in Maine in 2021. Geist has studied with Steve Seskin, Peter Case, and Steve Earle; his songwriting twin suns are Leonard Cohen and Kris Kristofferson.
