About this Event
The Maine Outdoors Skills Program
The Maine Outdoors Skills Program introduces outdoor skills through hands-on workshops where you can choose from topics that interest you. Each program is unique and offerings change seasonally. The Maine Outdoors Skills Program helps people gain the knowledge, self-confidence, and practical skills to be more self-reliant, and many may introduce you to a new activity that you have never tried before. All equipment is provided and there is no cost to attend!
This session will have an emphasis on hunting and trapping skills including wild game cooking, as well as several angling opportunities. Hunting and angling are great ways to enjoy the outdoors, while also putting food on your table. Trapping, often overlooked, can provide another great way to be outdoors providing many benefits in conservation and self reliance. Shooting sports and wilderness survival skills compliment these activities and will prepare you for all that the Maine outdoors has to offer.
Participants can choose from a broad list of topics and follow their own path. These programs will inspire you and provide a deeper connection to nature while connecting you to others that enjoy the outdoors!
