Conference is held at the Wyndham Resort Lake Buena Vista, across from Disney Springs.

We will collaborate and workshop using a framework of decision making, designing, developing, and storytelling. This 4-day professional development will help educators and health care professionals build a storyboard using inspiration from what made Walt Disney and the Disney Company so successful and innovative.

DAY 1 - ROCK LAKE CONFERENCE ROOM (BREAKFAST & LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED)
DECISION MAKING - Take a step back and think about a problem you wish to solve or a new idea/concept to createIntroductions: Get to know each other and start networking
Fears and Hopes Protocol: Set our norms and expectations for the next 4 days
Educated Risks: Self-assess our comfort in taking risks, create positive learning environments, and discuss ways to provide various support to scaffold learning and meet diverse needs
Problem-Solving: Identify what you do now to solve problems with your students and/or staff. What are strategies we can use to solve problems?
Feedback: Learn to assess and give others constructive feedback that keep ideas and concepts moving forward, enhance creativity through knowledge diffusion and exchange of ideas.
DESIGNING & DEVELOPING IDEAS -Work through an innovative problem-solving process and on out-of-the-box thinkingPeer Panel: You, the participants, are on the panel. This is a fun and engaging activity that can be modeled in a classroom or staff meeting. We will use our discussions and strategies discussed in the morning around risk taking, feedback, and creative processes.
Mind Mapping: Using Blue Sky Thinking, this will be a space to nurture creativity and begin mimicking what Imagineers do when they are brainstorming ideas and concepts. No idea is a bad idea!
Introduction to Designing Ideas: Think Project-Based Learning, as participants start envisioning their idea, concept, or problem that they want to work on for the next 4 days. We will prepare for being in the makerspace to acquire a deeper knowledge through active exploration of real-world challenges and problems.
STORYTELLING - Build a visual story for your idea, concept, or solution and then share the narrative for feedback.Mastering the Art of Storytelling: Use examples from Disney to understand the importance and impact of storytelling.
Visual Storytelling: Strategies and tools to create a visualization of an idea, concept, or solution to a problem.
It’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow: Prepare for the next 2 days in our makerspace (parks) so that participants can learn, collaborate, and explore.
DAY 2 - MAKERSPACE (MAGIC KINGDOM)
Using the parks as a makerspace for the next 2-days, we will acquire a deeper knowledge through active exploration of real-world concepts and innovative solutions.

Making Connections: Let’s connect the dots using what we collaborated on yesterday to prepare for the day and action items in our makerspace.
Makerspace: We will get a special glimpse at how Disney brings the magic to life through organized tours and activities for educators. We will take these ideas of creativity, storytelling, leadership, innovation, and guest services and apply them to creating classroom magic and even the bigger picture of crafting the schools of tomorrow.
Small Group Debrief: Participants will meet in small groups with a facilitator to debrief the day and share stories of what they discovered or were inspired by in the makerspace.
DAY 3 - MAKERSPACE (EPCOT)
Personalized Tour: EPCOT is more than just a theme park. It is a place where you can explore the wonders of science, technology, culture and imagination. EPCOT will inspire you to think creatively and solve problems in new ways. You will discover how innovation and collaboration can shape a better future for everyone. EPCOT will spark your curiosity and ignite your passion for learning and adventure.
Blue Sky Exploration: Collaborate with other participants in a small group to develop your idea further. We will mind map using some of the Imagineering type strategies for creating and designing.
DAY 4 - ROCK LAKE CONFERENCE ROOM (BREAKFAST & LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED)
Brainstorming and Prep: Participants will share their experience in the makerspaces over the last 2 days and make connections to how they will bring the magic into their schools and classrooms.
Creativity, Curiosity, and Innovation: Review and discuss the strategies we have been working on before we begin working on our Project-Based Learning project to bring back some magic.
Collaboration: Work on a storyboard to present your ideas, concept, or solution to share with peers.
Final Visual Presentation Due: Participants must complete their storyboard before lunch.
Visual Story Presentations: Each group or individual will present their story and get feedback from peers. You will take home a presentation to either get started on your new idea or concept and/or to share with your leaders as a proposal to implement.
Let's Celebrate and Reflect: Take-aways and End-of-Conference Ceremony
