PRINCE OF MUSIC: PALESTRINA IN THE ETERNAL CITYThe prominent 12-voice ensemble will celebrate its 20th season and Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina’s 500th birthday with a program highlighting Palestrina’s music at the Sistine Chapel and the changes in his style demanded by the Counter-Reformation, his tragic personal life, and his influence on his successors.
The concert will feature several of Palestrina’s most beloved and timeless motets, as well as gems by other leading composers active in Rome.
