Accompanied by Ferran Rico on electric bass, blending European neo-pop jazz with Black-American music; George Fulton on tenor saxophone and clarinet, an award-winning jazz soloist from Seattle; and Ben Fig on drums, a world-class performer who has shared stages across the globe, this ensemble promises a thrilling and dynamic performance.

BIO:
Mahya Hamedi - Voice and Piano
Mahya Hamedi is a multi-stylistic vocalist, pianist, composer, and producer. Currently
based in Boston, she recently graduated Berklee College of Music as a full-tuition
scholar. Mahya’s recorded works are highly syncretic, fusing Iranian folk music with
contemporary jazz, pop, and classical music, showcasing her powerful and versatile
voice. Her recorded music have been celebrated both in Iran and throughout the Iranian
diaspora, accumulating hundreds of thousands of plays on music streaming services.
Her original song “Deng,” a plea for pacifism written as tensions escalated between Iran
and the United States, was released in January 2020. Mahya has performed over 20
shows around the US in New York, California, Philadelphia, and Boston area. She is
currently recording her latest compositions for her debut studio album, which she looks
forward to promoting around the world.
