Mahuki are an Edinburgh-based fusion project spearheaded by the Czech-born guitar
virtuoso, Honza Kourimsky. Blending jazz with Eastern European folk melodies and
progressive funk, Mahuki embarks on a musical exploration of the spiritual dimensions of the
human experience. Honza's dynamic stage presence, extensive performing background, and
distinctive compositional flair set the stage for this cutting-edge jazz fusion ensemble.
In their sophomore album, "Gratitude," Mahuki delves into a diverse range of musical styles,
seamlessly blending expressive improvisation with intricate composition and arrangement.
This captivating fusion of sounds transcends traditional genre boundaries, drawing in
audiences from across the musical spectrum, including enthusiasts of Latin music, Nu-Jazz,
and beyond.
Embarking on their "Gratitude" album tour, Mahuki takes their dynamic sound across
Scotland, England, and Czechia. With their unique blend of energetic jazz, Mahuki
showcases remarkable instrumental prowess and improvisational finesse, solidifying their
position as trailblazers in Edinburgh's musical landscape.
With a decade of music-making in Edinburgh, Honza has curated a repertoire featuring some
of the most promising talents from Scotland's jazz scene. These musicians have graced
esteemed stages worldwide, including Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London, Jazz FM, BBC
Radio Scotland, and The New Morning in Paris. Join Mahuki on their musical journey
