About this Event

We will be bringing together specialist researchers, clinical staff, academics, and other professionals from across Greater Manchester to take part in the latest of a series of research collaboration workshops supported by Health Innovation Manchester. The event will be held from 12:30 - 16:00 on 29th June in The Dalton Room of the Core Technology Facility, 46 Grafton St, Manchester M13 9WU, at the University of Manchester and will welcome around 55 professionals to the in-person event. Catering will be provided ahead of the event starting and refreshments will be available for all attendees throughout, funded by the MAHSC CVD Domain.

The aim of the event will be to foster new collaborations between existing research teams within the field of Cardiovascular healthcare, generate novel ideas for approaching ongoing cardiovascular health risks and concerns, and sharing learning from the various research and clinical teams in Greater Manchester.

A poster submission competition will be open to attendees at the start of the event, which will showcase 10-15 cardiovascular research projects and award a prize to the most highly rated poster. Following a networking lunch and the poster judging, several key professionals from the higher education institutions in GM will provide a showcase of ongoing research activity, followed by demonstrations from our grant recipients within the CVD domain as to how their project funds were utilised to generate novel research. The event will also include presentations from PPI/E representatives to showcase the patient experience of cardiovascular healthcare in GM.

The other main component of the event will bring together attendees into focused discussion groups with the aim of:

• Sharing ongoing research projects and areas of expertise

• Identifying research priorities for the region as a whole and the teams within GM

• Creating novel ideas for cardiovascular research to address unmet need

• Fostering new collaboration between research teams to advance research potential
