ABOUT THE EVERETT: The Everett Theatre first opened on November 9, 1922, and remains the area’s cultural center for the cinematic, visual and performing arts. The Everett’s stage is home to live stage productions, children’s theater and one of the finest movie screens on the Delmarva Peninsula. Come early to claim the most famous seat in the house – Row G, Seat 104 – where the late legend Robin Williams sat during a pivitol scene in 1989’s Dead Poets Society, filmed locally and in The Everett. The Everett’s 1938 Simplex E-7 projectors with Peerless lamphouses are among the very few carbon-arc projectors remaining in operation today.
ABOUT THE MAHONING: The Mahoning Drive-In Theater was built in 1948, and opened for its first season the following year. Since then it has entertained moviegoers for over half a century on the largest CinemaScope screen in Pennsylvania. The Mahoning offers an exclusively retro 35mm film program, presented reel-to-reel via original 1940’s Simplex projectors.
