The ancient game of mahjong, which first captured America’s attention in the 1920s, is making a comeback—and the Friends of the Joplin Public Library are hosting it at the Joplin Public Library on the second and fourth Mondays in October and November. Beginners will receive instruction starting at 1:30 pm and experienced players can play from 2 to 4 pm. If you're an experienced player and want to help the beginners you are invited to come at 1:30 pm. And if you have a Mahjong set please bring it along.
Whether you are a seasoned player or brand new to the game, pull up a chair, shuffle the tiles, and join us—there’s always room at the mahjong table.
