What to expect:
Ready to move beyond the basics? In Mahjong 102, we’ll strengthen your foundation and build confidence through guided instruction and plenty of real-time play. After a quick review, you’ll learn how to set up correctly, make smarter decisions using the card, and practice reading the table in a supportive, low-pressure environment. Everything needed to play will be provided.
What you’ll learn
- How to build walls and set up the table
- The Charleston: how it works, what to pass, and how to adjust based on your hand
- Card strategy: choosing a target hand, tracking options, and knowing when to pivot.
Who it’s for
This class is ideal for players who already know the basic flow of American Mahjong. If you’ve taken Mahjong 101 or have played a few games but still feel unsure, you’re in the right place.
DETAILS
Registration: Space may be limited, so advance registration is recommended.
Food & Drink: Available for purchase at the bar. Feel free to order downstairs and bring items upstairs to enjoy while you play.
Parking: A large lot is available across the street at 3636 S. Kingshighway (former Ackerman Toyota), along with a small lot behind The Golden Hoosier and nearby street parking.
Accessibility Note: The event space is located upstairs and requires use of stairs.
