Born in Los Angeles, Maxine Miller resided post high school in the dingy decadence of punk rock Hollywood, where she found beauty in the crumbling old structures and the underground club scene.
Nowadays Maxine is a happy resident of Portland, Oregon where she finds inspiration in the abundant natural beauty of its landscape as well as the creative atmosphere of its people.
She also finds inspiration in the works of Erté, Beardsley, and the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. Victorian and Art Deco influence is combined with ancient Celtic/Pagan legend. The resuls are Maxine's own unique amalgam of story and art. While she works primarily in pen/ink & watercolor, Maxine also creates sterling silver jewelry, clothing and sculptured statuary.
