The Netherlands is gradually opening up, spring has arrived, so it's time to unlock our doors!Galerie Bart opens a solo and duo exhibition on Saturday the 6th and Sunday the 7th of March with Magic by Frode Bolhuis. Both days we are open from 13:00 until 18:00. Reserve a timeslot for 2 people max via [email protected].
Galerie Bart has been representing Frode Bolhuis for years. The collaboration dates back to 2011. It has resulted in multiple exhibitions. And once again he is back with a solo exhibition Magic. His sculptural work, driven by bright colors, is on display on the walls of the gallery from the 6th of March. The exhibition Magic brings together his most recent works in a narrative way in large wall installations.
The extent to which he elaborates the figures has changed. Now their poses and body proportions vary greatly, and if you zoom in on their faces, they are more detailed and individual than before. Not archetypes, but almost portraits, although Frode never models them after existing people; they take shape through his hands. Once they are completed, Frode can observe them as if they are no longer his own, but stand on their own.
The exhibition is open to the public (within the Dutch COVID-19 regulations). You can RSVP via [email protected] and come along with max. 2 persons or 1 household within a time slot.
