(TICKETS $15/$10/$25)Long time Canberra space rockers have a brand new album out called "Magic Rob Universe, Live at Smith's Alternative".
This is the band’s second album and first live recording comprising of six original songs. Lead by Magic Rob Burgess, singer, songwriter from Canberra. In his song writing, Rob draws on his fascination with mythology, philosophy, comparative religion, science fiction and fantasy.
Live at Smith’s Alternative provides a driving beat to get you entrance into an other worldly journey.
There are powerful songs on the album and familiar tunes the audiences of past shows will adore. The album delves into stories of interstellar travel, science-fiction, fantasy, witchery and mythology.
The tracks are laced with sizzling lead guitar by Nathan Rowlands (Tundrel, Grand Duke). Exhilarating, captivating percussion rhythm section lead by Glenn Elliot drums (Timecult, The Chuffs) and David Bath on bass (Hot Tubs, Howling Moon) bring the back beats.
The band have been performing live since 2011. Often described as “a folk-rock band with a medieval twist and a space-rock vein”. Recorded by Bevan Noble, this performance shows their true live spirit that comes alive. Providing a taste of the present, the mystical past and a glimpse of the hereafter.

Space Party is a four-piece power surf pop garage punk band hailing from land-locked Canberra.
They began life playing instrumental surf-rock jams but now use vocals to bring to life their extraterrestrial sci-fi obsessions - with songs about encountering prejudice dating an alien, the woes of werewolves, loving an X-files character and fear of the zombie apocalypse.
Featuring members of Brisbane’s Ups and Downs, Sydney’s Big Heavy Stuff and Atticus, Melbourne’s Arctic Circles, Canberra’s Okinawa Girls and New York’s The Defenders, this is a band that has left blood, sweat and beer on stages from Phnom Penh to Narrabundah.
