Join for a celebration of on a glorious New Year's Day placed under the signs of new beginnings, life's enjoys and kind self-reflection, at the Franklin Castle.
This four hour event starts with Action ! an explorative tour of the castle conducted by historian William G. Krejci. Once the warm-up part of scouting around is over, comforts of the soul will be tended to by Maeve's Magic putting on a tea ritual as both a cultural and festive experience. Guests will discover Maeve's Magic herbal brews, whimsical bites such as hors d'oeuvres, puddings and other traditional delights !
Reflections and embodiement of our fullest potential in the context of the great magnetism that is present in our Main Hall. This spiritual and highly heart-warming tea ritual is focused on setting intentions for the months to come, whilst nature is still and the Moon is growing at its fullest towards Mǫrsugr ( the ancient Norse tradition of Yule at the first full moon after winter solstice ). These important days include themes like rebirth, shadow work, hearth magic, generosity, ancestral connection, and intention-setting. They vary from source to source, but the overarching goal is the same: to honor, through Faith during the darkest days, the return of the sun, to release any heaviness you’re carrying from the past year, and prepare yourself for the coming year ahead.
Let's not forget FUN tho ! so bring your last firecrackers to blast in the garden and remember the Northern traditions of the Old World : the first guest who passes the castle's threshold on New Year's Day has to bring some small gifts or tokens of good luck for the house! ( do not worry if you forget them though, we will magically make them appear for you ! ). Traditional singing - "Auld Lang Syne" - is also highly encouraged !
Maeve's Magic is a local, sustainable apothecary and small catering business. Return to the sources of tradition, folk-lore and savoir-faire through recipes that have been lovingly preserved and transmitted since centuries past. Very limited attendance, only 12 guests !
