About this Event
The longest-standing chamber choir in Waterford City, Madrigallery has a wide-ranging repertoire from earliest plainchant to works by modern composers, including pieces specifically created for Madrigallery.
The choir is renowned for delivering high-end performances in collaboration with professional musicians and soloists from Ireland and beyond. When Madrigallery regrouped after the pandemic lockdowns, the choir was eager to develop a fresh repertoire with its new musical director, Pauline Kennedy.
This upcoming concert showcases the choir's vocal skills and stylistic versatility with works from Renaissance to Right Now - from Orlando Gibbons and Claude Debussy to Morten Lauridsen, Ola Gjeilo and Kim André Arnesen, to name just a few.
Musical Director Pauline Kennedy, herself an experienced singer and multi-instrumentalist, curates every programme with the audience's enjoyment in mind. Madrigallery is a community choir whose performances aim to reflect a wide range of musical interests both within the choir and among their audience.
In addition to the variety of choral works presented on the day, the concert also features guitar virtuoso, Joey Whelan; solo tenor, Stuart Kinsella; oboist, Grace Mercer; the Kilkenny Viol Consort accompanied by internationally acclaimed organist, Malcolm Proud; and piano accompanist par excellence, Oonagh Drohan.
Accompanied children up to 15 FREE.
