In the Madison-area, "Building Unity Gatherings" or BUG's happen on the 22nd day of most months in a variety of places in the Madison area. Each one is unique. Their common threads include that they are always on the 22nd day of the month and they attract people who are committed to promoting peace, justice, sustainability, and democracy. Their location moves around the city.June’s Building Unity Gathering will be at James Reeb Unitarian Universalist Congregation - 2146 E. Johnson St. - Madison.
The potluck supper will start at 6:00pm.
(*** If bringing food or a beverage to this event is inconvenient, don't worry, there will be plenty of food.)
This month's gathering will offer two brief community presentations and conversations:
1. "Community Composting" - How you can help build soil in the Madison area. Our partners - Brainplate Grows and the Madison Community Composting Coalition will lead this discussion.
2. "Free School Lunch for All MMSD Students" - Minnesota has done it and many feel that it is time for the Madison Metro. School District to do so as well. This discussion will be led by leaders from DSA and a newly forming coalition of groups who are coming together for this goal.

The primary goal for Building Unity Gatherings is to strengthen the unity between the movements for peace, justice, sustainability, and democracy by helping us:
* to find and get to know others in our community who share our passion for the essential needs for survival,
* to share information with other justice seeking groups,
* to explore the possibilities for working together for a stronger and more united movement.
Because June's BUG on June 22 will be following a very exciting community event at the Troy Farm/Troy Community Gardens on the very same day, one of our facilitators for the community composting presentation/conversation, Eliot Gilfillan, will be leading a bike ride from the Troy Community Gardens to our BUG at James Reeb UU. This bicycle caravan will be leaving Troy Community Gardens at 6:00 pm. We encourage all who can, to come to 2146 E. Johnson at 6:00 pm so that we can get the potluck underway. And, if you want to ride with Eliot and friends from Troy Community Gardens, please be ready to depart with them at 6:00pm and we'll see you when you get there.
If the weather is good for gathering outside, we will gather in the athletic field behind James Reeb UU.
