About this Event
On the occasion of the newly opened art exhibit "Made in Germany? Art and Identity in a Global Nation?" at Harvard Art Museums, GABC is delighted to offer you a special program and private after hours tour.
The evening will start at 6PM with a special program "Made in Germany? Personal Reflections" with business leaders in Deknatel Lecture Hall followed by a private tour through the new exhibit with the curator for this special exhibit, Lynette Roth, as well as curatorial fellow Peter Murphy.
This is a special event organized by the German American Business Council with support from the German Consulate General in Boston.

Schedule
5:30PM to 6PM Arrival at Harvard Art Museums (entry through the Broadway entrance)
6PM to 6:45PM Reflections with business leaders (Deknatel Hall)
7PM to 8PM Tour of the exhibit (Special Exhibitions Gallery)
Note: This event will NOT include food or drinks. There is no food or drink allowed in the lecture or exhibit halls. There are water fountains throughout the museum.
Tickets: Complimentary for GABC members and $30 (incl. fees) for non-members
This includes access to the "reflections panel" and private after hours tour of the exhibit.
Curators
Lynette Roth
Lynette Roth is an internationally recognized art historian and curator. Her research focuses on modern and contemporary art from German-speaking countries with publications and/or exhibitions on the Weimar period (Cologne Progressives, Max Beckmann, August Sander), the immediate postwar period (Inventur–Art in Germany, 1943–55; White Shadows: Anneliese Hager and the Camera-less Photograph), and contemporary art (Rebecca Horn, Wolfgang Tillmans). She received her B.A. from the University of Michigan and her Ph.D. in art history from Johns Hopkins University. Since 2011 Roth is Daimler Curator of the Busch-Reisinger Museum at the Harvard Art Museums. Current exhibition projects include Made in Germany? Art and Identity in a Global Nation (2024) and Disrupt the View: Arlene Shechet at the Harvard Art Museums (2022-25).
Peter Murphy
Peter Murphy is the Stefan Engelhorn Curatorial Fellow in the Busch-Reisinger Museum. He is co-curator with Lynette Roth of Made in Germany? Art and Identity in a Global Nation (Fall 2024) and curator of Katharina Sieverding: Transformer (Fall 2024). With Lynette Roth and Elizabeth Rudy, he is co-curator of Edvard Munch: Technically Speaking (Spring 2024). His current curatorial research examines the relationship between housing crises and disability in modern and contemporary art. Peter's doctoral dissertation and book project focus on the relationship between queerness and figuration in modern and contemporary painting from Europe and the United States.
