Madcats is proud to begin hosting a new series of Jam Sessions focused on Rock and Roll. This first event will be dedicated to the timeless music of the 1960s and 1970s. From the iconic sounds of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones to the powerful riffs of Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, this event is a celebration of the era that defined rock music.All musicians are welcome to participate. Start by putting your ‘60s & ‘70s era song requests in the discussion section of this FB event notice. Your host for the evening, Mike Petrie, will publish an online sign up sheet based on your requests prior to the event. Stay tuned to the discussion comments for further details.
We'll kick off the evening with a few tunes with drummer, Mike Petrie; supreme bass groovemaster, Eli Bennett; and Chicagoland's ultimate guitar shredder/vocalist, Dan Peters.
Drummer, Mike Petrie, currently hosts the monthly Jazz Jam at Madcats. Eli Bennett is a frequent performer at Madcats and a bass player for several cover/tribute bands including Physical Graffiti (Led Zeppelin tribute) and The Chain (Fleetwood Mac tribute). Dan Peters has recorded/performed with: Dan Peters Band, The West Side Winders, Dee Snider, Luminare, Lzzy Hale, The Lovin' Spoonful, Kristin Chenoweth, Jeff Pilson, Otis Rush, Jools Holland & Joe Piscopo as well as Theater: Broadway's Rock Of Ages, Dee Snider's RocknRoll Xmas Tale, School Of RockMamma Mia, Grease & Blue Man Group NYC. You won’t want to miss this power trio rock out!
