Decadence, Disaster, and DeMille!
As part of the Liberty’s 100th Anniversary celebration, we’re bringing you a free community screening of one of the wildest, most over-the-top spectacles of early Hollywood—Cecil B. DeMille’s Madam Satan (1930)!
This campy pre-Code fever dream has it all: cheating husbands, vengeful wives, an extravagant masquerade ball on a zeppelin, jazz-era debauchery, and a third act so chaotic you’ll wonder if DeMille lost a bet. With lavish costumes, melodramatic romance, and a finale that literally crashes and burns, Madam Satan is a cinematic rollercoaster of high society scandal and high-flying disaster.
Come revel in the sheer absurdity and excess of this rare cult classic as we celebrate a century of cinema at the Liberty. It’s free, it’s fabulous, and it’s proof that Hollywood has always been just a little bit unhinged.
Don your most dramatic mask (or parachute) and join us—if you dare!
This film is not rated, although it may not be suitable for young audiences.
Doors open at 6:00pm. Arrive early to pick up concessions from our Lower Lobby and enjoy them from your seat!
