Featuring some of Perth’s most beloved musicians, Macpherson/Valenti/Carlton/Pass bring together original compositions and open improvisations in an intimate setting. With a range of musical influences including that of Ornette Coleman and the early free jazz movement of the 1960s, this quartet brings a fresh approach and modern insight into the many possibilities of the chord-less quartet. Using an entirely collaborative approach, this ensemble creates a unique sound and repertoire that features original compositions from all four band members. With more than 10 years of music-making (and friendship) under their belt, Macpherson/Valenti/Carlton/Pass bring to life an exciting project filled with new musical ideas and creative exploration.
