Human trafficking is the use of force, fraud, or coercion for the purpose of exploitation, and it’s a problem that continues to grow. Join us on Tuesday, February 18th, for a very special Macomb FAN Forum as we hear from Sanctum House Executive Director Karen Moore and her team as they discuss human trafficking and the trauma-informed care that their organization provides to survivors. Human trafficking is a global issue, and Sanctum House in Novi is a safe home where survivors of human trafficking can heal and rebuild. Founded in 2013, Sanctum House is a voluntary, residential, 24-month program for women 18 years of age and older, which offers healthcare, professional services, education, and reintegration. For many survivors of human trafficking, drug and alcohol dependencies are a part of their trafficking experience. That’s why maintaining and continuing to work on their sobriety plays a key role in the Sanctum House Program. By providing trauma-informed healthcare, and individualized resources within a safe and secure environment, Sanctum House becomes the foundation to build a better future. All are welcome at this forum, so bring your family and friends to learn about this important topic and nonprofit.
