Macmillan Coffee MorningJoin us for a brew, cake, crafts, plant & preserves sale.
I’m hosting a Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support who have supported my 16 year old son Edward who was diagnosed with a Ewing Sarcoma a type of bone cancer in January 2025. By the time we have this coffee morning he will have undergone 14 cycles of chemo as an inpatient of Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, surgery to remove the tumour in his femur and replace the damaged bone with a titanium prothesis, 30 days of radiotherapy and numerous bloods, scans, appointments and physio. We couldn't have got through some of this without the support of our amazing Macmillan nurse Helen Green. She has held our hand all the way through, guiding us through the various medical procedures and liaising with other medical practitioners to make the journey run as smoothly as possible.
Macmillan put a human face on cancer and make what feels like an impossible task more manageable. I've run several Macmillan mornings in the past but this one seems particularly important. especially as it comes at the end of Edward's treatment. I will be co hosting this with my lovely friend Hannah.
Macmillan is 98% funded by voluntary donations and with your help Macmillan can deliver the vital support people living with cancer need.
