Machine Knitting for Beginners: 6-week workshop!
Join us for an exciting 6-week workshop on machine knitting! Whether you're a complete novice or have some experience, this workshop is designed to help you master the art of machine knitting.
Location: Make Nashville Makerspace, 620B Davidson Street, Nashville, TN 37213
Time: Class will be Wednesday nights from 6:00 PM-8:30 PM
If you love knitwear, knitting and learning new skills, you'll love this class! You'll learn the basics of flatbed machine knitting and will make four or more projects during this six-week workshop. Perfect timing to start creating your winter wardrobe or Christmas gifts for friends and family!

The instructor, Anna Haferman, has been machine knitting for many years and is a founding member of the Nashville Machine Knitters group. She has taught classes in the Nashville area for several years. Her popular YouTube channel features machine knitting tutorials on flatbed knitting machines.
Knitting machines and yarn will be provided for use in class.

FAQs:
Do I need to bring anything to the class? Participants may wish to bring reading glasses if needed and a snack or beverage if desired. Suitable yarn will be provided and knitting machines will be available to use during class (cost of materials is built into your course enrollment fee).
Safety information: Knitting machine needles are sharp, so to avoid accidents please follow these guidelines: Please wear short sleeves or sleeves that can be rolled up. Long flowy sleeves, long sleeve sweaters and dangly necklaces or earrings should be avoided while knitting at the machine. Long hair should be pulled back during class.
Are there any prerequisites? Hand knitting experience is helpful but not required- complete beginners are welcome to join this workshop! Participants should be 16 years of age or over.
About the instructor:
Anna Haferman has been a machine knitter for many years and is a founding member of the Nashville Machine Knitters group. She has taught machine knitting classes in the Nashville area for several years. Her popular YouTube channel features machine knitting tutorials on flatbed knitting machines. She has knit commissioned display pieces for the local yarn shop, props for a soon-to-be-released motion picture as well as many gifts for herself, her pets and her family.
