About this Event
Machine Knitting Camp is an excellent way to enjoy machine knitting in the company of other knitting machine enthusiasts!
It's like a retreat in a casual, homespun setting but with comprehensive hands-on experiences.
Expect to return home with complete knitted items or the inspiration to finish the projects you started.

Each day begins with set-up or meeting other knitters at 10:00am.
Instructors will help everybody get started on Thursday morning with a Knitting Machine TLC session (new sponge bars, cleaning brush and oil available for purchase on site).
Each day will have a 1 hour break for lunch. Sessions resume after lunch break with "Table Talk" which is a Camp tradition: a 15 minute round table discussion about topics like yarn, seaming techniques, or knitting machine experiences.
Knitting on your own or informal classes continue until 6:00pm each day.
Optional classes during 2025 Camp will include a Basic Beginner option and a Camp Project option. Classes for the Basic Beginner option include: textured cowl, stocking hat, tuck stitch dishcloth, Picot-Edge socks and Sideways Knit Sweater. Classes for the 2025 Camp Project option include: Sleeveless Sweater on Bulky Machine with hung hem edge (no ribber required).
Knitters are also welcome to work on your own project.
Instructors: Carole Wurst and J. Wurst
Knitting Machine Mentors may be available to provide extra help if needed, on a limited "as-available" basis. You may need to wait if everyone needs help at the same time!
Camp is held inside the Knitshop at Rocking Horse Farm, so please limit the amount of extra items brought in to the space. Some Camp attendees will be knitting next to yarn shelves, so plan to be immersed in fiber-y goodness while you are attending Camp. This includes both natural (wool) and man-made fibers.
Passap machine owners or Circular Sock Machine owners should contact us beforehand to ensure adequate space and project availability. We may limit attendees for these machines.
Registration is very limited for this event. Cost includes classes, instructors, project and pattern packet to take home, a copy of "Machine Knitting Inspiration", and special yarn sales only for Camp attendees.
