About this Event
Starling Shakespeare Company is proud to present their 2022 summer season featuring Macbeth and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Catch both shows on tour from July 16th-30th, followed by a month-long residency for all of August as a part of the Mackinac Island Shakespeare Festival in Mackinac Island, MI!
With only 5 actors, Starling's shows are fast-placed, playful, and nimble interpretations of two of the Bard's classic plays. And at only 90 minutes, they're perfect for date night or an evening out with the family!
Macbeth, directed by Benjamin Curns, is a story of ambition, and the ways in which power, and the struggle to maintain it, can corrupt. After a surprise encounter with three witches who prophesy that he will become king, Macbeth and his wife become obsessed with the possibility, and will stop at nothing to make it happen. The rest of the story is a quickly advancing avalanche of betrayal, violence, and revolution. The rapid rise and fall of the Macbeths ensures that Scotland will never be the same.
