Mabon \/ Autumnal Equinox Ritual Soundbath

Join us once more as we celebrate the seasonal wheel of the year for our Mabon ritual Soundbath and meditation.
You will be invited to fond peace and tranquility as we follow the path within.
Known as the pagan Thanksgiving, Mabon marks the Autumn Equinox, when day and night are equal, making it a time of balance, equality and harmony. In ancient times Mabon was a celebration of the second harvest (Lughnasadh was the first) when farmers gathered hearty foods like gourds, pumpkins, grapes and apples.
Modern Mabon celebrations are a time to give thanks for the abundance of Mother Earth - both literally and spiritually. It’s also a good time to reflect on the Wheel of the Year, recognizing your successes and letting go of the things that did not serve you during the past twelve months.
At this Ritual sound bath we invite you to reflect and journey within yourself to the landscapes of your soul.
We will travel through soundscapes and visualisation to uncover hidden ‘signposts’ and personal messages to help you understand your thoughts and feelings. This will give clarity and foresight as we enter the new season.
Our Sabbat celebrations are a combination of sound healing, chant , meditation, deep journeying, soul enquiry and introspection.
We will use four gongs, Tibetan singing bowls, monochords, crystal pyramid, crystal singing bowls, Koshi chimes, tingshas, alchemy bells, shamanic drum, rainmakers, didgeridoos, two varieties of cosmic sound chimes and many other instruments.
I am an established Sound Therapist, Holistic Practitioner, Meditation Teacher, Developmental coach and course facilitator at my therapy rooms , The Tree Sanctuary and Retreat. I offer meditation and sound bath sessions in small groups, private one to one sessions or personal group sessions and Sound therapy hybrid treatments ( a physical treatment combined with sound therapy).
A bit of information about sound baths:
A sound bath focusses more on enveloping you in the relaxing, meditative sound waves from singing bowls, gongs and other instruments. The concept of sound baths originated in Tibet some 2000 years ago.
Most sound baths take place in a room with other people, but some sound bath specialists offer one-on-one experiences for the ultimate in relaxation. We can offer this here at the Tree Sanctuary.
You will be asked to settle down in a comfortable space complete with a pillow. You’ll then close your eyes and make yourself cosy under a blanket. I will encourage you to relax your body muscle by muscle before starting to play gongs, singing bowls or other instruments. The sounds will start off softly to ease you in, but will get progressively louder. Instead of giving you a headache, they have the clever ability to soothe your mind.
Sound bath sessions can last up to an hour, it’s important that you are warm and as comfortable as possible. Wearing loose clothing is advisable.
So, what happens in your body during a sound bath?
The gong sound is changed frequently to avoid producing a fixed, monotonous rhythm. The auditory stimuli of the gong bath process leads to entrainment, a form of beneficially modified brainwave frequencies. The first brainwave state to be reached is alpha, which is defined by frequencies between 8 and 12 Hz. Alpha brainwaves are associated with creativity and feelings of relaxation. In this state, people experience daydreams, associative thinking and an animated imagination. This state is quickly followed by an influx of theta brainwaves, which fall between 4 and 7 Hz. Normally, the theta brainwave state is associated with deep meditation, hypnosis and REM sleep.
Sound therapy can help reduce stress and liberate emotional blockages. Scientific evidence suggests that certain forms of sound therapy prompt damaged human DNA strands to repair themselves. Some tones are thought to promote vitality and healing, and also to enhance happiness.
Other forms of sound therapy include tuning forks, Tibetan singing bowls, chanting and drumming therapy.
The benefits of sound healing include:
~ lowers stress.
~ decreases mood swings.
~ lowers blood pressure.
~ lowers cholesterol levels.
~ teaches pain management.
~ lowers risk for coronary artery disease and stroke.
~ improves sleep.
Sound bath is just a part of our offering at Sabbat gatherings. We celebrate the 8 festivals within the year of the year. Each one opening and unfurling in us an opportunity to embody and inspire your true nature of divine infinite peace.
We welcome you to join us at this natural sacred point to activate balance within your life.
