Maèd (ማዕድ - Feast) is an innovative networking event designed to bring people together through the richness of Ethiopian heritage. Our second event will feature a panel discussion with community leaders like Ms. Aster Bekele (former chemist at Eli Lilly and Founder & CEO of Felege Hiwot), select business pitches, networking, a scratch board art class by Esayas Zerazion while sipping special Ethiopian honey wine or coffee, and shopping curated handmade contemporary Ethiopian fashion and accessories.Come and connect!

Attendees will have the chance to connect, exchange ideas, and support the next generation of changemakers building their dreams right here in Indianapolis.

Info: Experience art, culture, and connection at Scratch & Sip, a unique blend of creativity and community. Each 45-minute session welcomes up to 20 participants to enjoy a hands-on scratchboard art experience led by Esayas Zerazion. Guests will be offered a sample of Ethiopian honey wine, a non-alcoholic honey drink, or traditional coffee to sip as they create.
Between sessions, attendees can network, connect, and shop a selection of curated contemporary Ethiopian fashion—featuring designs that celebrate culture, craftsmanship, and style. It’s the perfect opportunity to relax, meet new people, and immerse yourself in a vibrant artistic atmosphere.
