Showcasing one of the world’s most esteemed violinists, and recent GRAMMY® Award winner, Anne Akiko Meyers, Márquez & Meyers transcends time with works of Baroque elegance and vibrant contemporary rhythms. Meyers will join the orchestra to perform the riotously colorful mariachi-inspired violin concerto "Fandango", which won the 2024 Latin GRAMMY® for “Best Contemporary Classical Composition” and “Best Classical Album” for its recording by the LA Philharmonic. Opening the concert is Alessandro Scarlatti’s "Sinfonie di concerto grosso No. 2 in D", and concluding the evening is a rarely performed early work by Camille Saint-Saëns, "Symphony in A major".Pre-Concert Talk:
