Richmond Symphony Orchestra takes the Civic Hall Stage again on Saturday, November 15th at 7:30pm! Lyricism & Depth seeks to highlight the depth of unique sounds between compositions that you will hear.English composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor expertly combined the classical European style with African musical influences. In an era of intense racial prejudice, during a US tour, he was invited to the White House to honor his influence as a composer and make a stand against racism. Johannes Brahms, a great mind of the German romantic movement, spent decades completing his first symphony. This lengthy process led to the creation of intricate pieces of music. Lastly, Carl Nielson, the Danish composer who combined neo-classical sound with modern and Danish folk inspirations. Nielson's Flute Concerto, written later in his life, highlights a more modern sound for the time it was created.
These three composers show a well-rounded depth of sound that we can't wait for you all to experience with your regional symphony orchestra! Tickets are available online, we can't wait to have you join us for another incredible evening!
