About this Event
π We're thrilled to announce Lyrical Landscapes Vol. 3! π
Join us for an enchanting evening on June 25th, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, at our beloved venue, 7426 W McNichols Rd, Detroit, MI 48221. π
This edition celebrates the harmony between art and expression, focusing on communal support and advocacy. π¨
We are honored to feature the incredible Tawana Petty, a dedicated mother, social justice organizer, poet, author, and facilitator. Tawana's work champions racial justice, equity, privacy, and consent. She is a 2023-2025 Just Tech Fellow with the Social Science Research Council, a 2024 National LIO Yearlong Fellow with the Rockwood Leadership Institute, and serves on the CS for Detroit Steering Committee and the board of Signal-Return. Tawana is also the founding Executive Director of Petty Propolis, a Black women-led artist incubator focused on policy literacy, data and digital privacy education, and racial justice initiatives.
Get ready for soul-stirring performances at our open mic session, where you can share your voice and stories. π€π
The open mic welcomes poets, musicians, and anyone who wants to talk about their community work or creative journeys. If you're free and in the area, come through to enjoy the vibes, artwork, and inspiring words.
Entry is FREE, so gather your friends and join us for a magical evening on June 25th! β¨π
