About this Event
What if the legends were true?
A lost kingdom swallowed by the sea in a single night… 140 churches… a kingdom now resting beneath the waves between Land’s End and the Isles of Scilly. The myth of Lyonesse has echoed through Cornish folklore for centuries – part fantasy, part faded memory of real geological change. And today, as sea levels rise again, the line between story and science blurs once more.
Join us for an interactive workshop where we dive deep into the drowned past to reimagine our shared future.
Together, we’ll:
- Explore the myth and mystery of Lyonesse and other lost lands
- Discover the hidden layers beneath our surrounding waters – from submerged forests to flint-filled valleys
- Invent new mythologies and tools for survival – will we become merfolk? Ride underwater trains? Build floating towns?
This is a space for serious play and creative resilience, drawing on folklore, community memory, environmental change, and collective dreaming.
No experience needed – just bring your curiosity, your ideas (as silly or serious as you like), and a willingness to think differently about the stories we tell and the futures we build.
Let’s turn rising tides into rising voices.
