Train to be a docent at the Arboretum to lead small groups and share the history, culture, and of course about the beautiful collection of plants with visitors to Lyon.
The 8-week course will take place every Wednesday from Sep 25 2024 from 09:00 AM - 11:00 AM and ends November 13th.
During this training class, you will have the opportunity to enhance your knowledge about the diverse plant life at Lyon Arboretum and develop your skills as a docent. Requirements for the class: You must be physically able to lead tours around the Arboretum, which has uneven trails. You must be ok to work in conditions that include mosquitoes and inclement weather.
Location: Lyon Arboretum Visitors Center classroom and grounds
Class Date: Every Wednesday, starting 9/25/24 and ends 11/13/24
Class Sessions: 9/25, 10/2/,10/9, 10/16, 10/23, 10/30, 11/6, 11/13
Time: 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Cost: $150 - A refund will be given upon successful completion of the program and committment to leading 5 tours.
Instructors: Education Manager, Raedelle Van Fossen with guest instuctors from the various departments at Lyon.
Refunds: Refunds if cancelling enrollment will be given up to 9/18/24. Fees cannot be transferred to another class.
