Join us for an evening of holiday cheer and mental wellness at the Unwrap a Joyful Mind Winter Cabaret! This year, Lynette Sheard & Friends are bringing together a talented lineup of musicians to showcase their talents in music and art. From jazzy renditions of classic holiday tunes to original spoken word pieces, each performance will leave you feeling uplifted and empowered.

Your Host - Lynette Sheard
Ms. Sheard is a versatile vocalist, actor, activist, producer, director, and vocal coach. The Star-Ledger proclaimed, “Her voice reaches deep into one’s soul and finds a soft spot.” She performs Jazz, R&B, Gospel, Soul, and Pop music. LYNETTELIVE.COM
Dre Barnes - Pianist Bandleader - Dre Barnes is an accomplished jazz pianist and bandleader. Born in Philadelphia, he began studying piano at an early age and played in local R&B bands throughout high school. After graduating from college, he pursued a career in jazz, sitting in at local jam sessions and later studying with master jazz pianists Kenny Barron and Mulgrew Miller at Rutgers University's Mason Gross School of the Arts. Dre Barnes has performed with notable artists such as vocalists Mikki Braden, Judy Bady, actress/vocalist Janet Huber from "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air", trumpeters Duane Eubanks, Phillip Harper, among others. His debut CD, "Wandering Spirits," features bassist Reuben Rogers and legendary drummer Lewis Nash.
Santi Debriano - Bass Debriano is a talented jazz bassist, composer, and music teacher. Debriano has worked with renowned artists such as Archie Shepp, Sam Rivers, Larry Coryell, and Pharoah Sanders. He has led several ensembles, including Circlechant, a world music-influenced group, and Flash of the Spirit. His latest release is titled "Ashanti" on JoJo Records
Jarrett Walser - Drums Jarrett Walser is a talented and versatile jazz drummer, educator, and composer. Walser received his B.A. (2012) and M.M. (2017) in Jazz Performance at Rutgers University, Mason Gross School of the Arts, Has performed with notable musicians Valery Panomarev, Eddie Allen and Chico Freeman. Jarrett has played at major venues in New York City, including Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola, The Blue Note, and Carnegie Hall.
New Jersey Mental Health Players - The Mental Health Association in New Jersey’s NJ Mental Health Players (NJMHP) is the longest-running community education program of its type in New Jersey. Presentations provide audiences with a dynamic way to receive basic education about mental illness, addiction, and other relevant challenges.

The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) is one of the largest performing arts centers in the United States. Event was supported by NJPAC’s Community Engagement AVP Eyesha K. Marable and is also a trained dancer and Pastor at Mt. Zion AME Church in Millburn, NJ.
Rutgers Institute of Jazz Studies (IJS)
The Institute of Jazz Studies (IJS) at Rutgers University–Newark is the world’s largest and most comprehensive library and archive of jazz and jazz-related materials. Clement’s Place is a jazz lounge that is part of Rutgers University–Newark’s (IJS) and is located in the Ruth Bader Ginsburgh Hall.
Mental Health Association in New Jersey (MHANJ)
The Mental Health Association in New Jersey (MHANJ) has a community education program called the NJ Mental Health Players (NJMHP). The Mental Health Association in New Jersey’s NJ Mental Health Players (NJMHP) is the longest-running community education program of its type in New Jersey.
