Heavily influenced by the rhythms of his home country Brazil, multi-instrumentalist Lux Trevis creates an eclectic mix of jazz infused soundscapes and afro-latino grooves. Joined on the bandstand by some of Sydney's finest horn and rhythm section players, Lux's music takes you on a musical journey that spans from Afro-beat & Hip-Hop to Samba and Dub.
Dakini Cuddle is a Naarm based, soul cased, Neo jazz funk paced band led by singer and guitarist Ty La Moonchild. Living off a diet of moonbeams and intuition, Tyla gathered allies Oliver George on drums and Rory Wilson on bass for a gig. Only to find that these two are both coincidentally from the Bluest of Mountains, Katoomba! Astonished by the connection both musically and serendipitously, We decided to keep rocking and rolling. Months later, keys extraordinaire, pianist Gabe Coleman, was introduced to us at our gig through a mutual friend. After watching us play he expressed his deepest wishes to be apart of the project! We were all so eager to collab. And just like that- he was apart of it! Funnily enough we were meant to meet each other a year before through said mutual friend. But divine timing was at play! Come watch what we do when we doing things on stage together!
Elmowy x Smith is the collaboration of bassist Amar Elmowy and keyboardist Lachie Smith, who seek to fashion a jazz-house perspective with dustings of RnB and broken beat. Through extended improvisations and a rotating lineup of musicians, the duo creatively balance timelessness and novelty.
