The purpose of this Open House is to provide information about the project and gather feedback and input from you as a community member about your ideas for this new park that is dedicated to the memory of Mitch Lundgaard, a 14-year veteran of the Appleton Fire Department who was killed in the line of duty. The public will be able to meet with representatives from ISG, Inc., a multi-disciplinary design and engineering firm who will lead the conceptual design, and the Parks, Recreation and Facilities Management Department staff.
Appleton and ISG will seek feedback on preliminary park concepts and ask attendees to rank various playground amenities and other specialty components such as water features and winter activities. Kids will be encouraged to draw their ideas and share playground preferences. Staff will engage attendees in conversations to gather more insights that will shape the vision of Lundgaard Park.
We will plan to meet outside at Lundgaard Park unless the weather is a factor, it would then be moved inside to Fire Station#6.
