About this Event
Friday 16th August | 1pm
Last year the Windy City Weatherbirds made their 'up north' debut here at the Lit & Phil. The sextet made a big impression and by popular demand is to make a return visit!
Based in south east England, the band comprises six young musicians inspired by the music of some of the legendary jazz musicians from a century ago, including Louis Armstrong, Wild Bill Davison, Bobby Hackett, Muggsy Spanier and Jack Teagarden.
Cornet, reeds, trombone, guitar, string bass and drums, the band will perform a selection of classic numbers from the Chicago (‘Windy City’) jazz scene from way back when. Don't miss this opportunity to hear the Windy City Weatherbirds once again right here on Tyneside!
